An attractive shingle beach it has some sand at its east end and impressive sandstone caves nearby.
An attractive shingle beach it has some sand at its east end and impressive sandstone caves nearby it is signposted off the B9031. At its centre is a white walled drinking fountain – St Drostan’s Well. St Drostan is said to have landed here is 580AD and the church up the hill is named after him. At the west end of the beach is a memorial to Jane Whyte who helped rescue the crew of the steamship William Hope wrecked here on the 28th October 1886.
