This is a solitary hill in a commanding position between the rivers Don and Dee.
Morven is a gently rolling hill, which steepens slightly into shape near the top. Being on the fringes of the Cairngorms, but with no other vying high ground nearby, the summit lends itself to fantastic views across Aberdeenshire and beyond. The mountain can be accessed from Ballater to the South, Logie Coldstone to the East or Strathdon to the North.
