Mount Keen 939m (3081ft)
Scotland’s most easterly Munro rises elegantly into a fine peak above the Mounth plateau.
Isolated from all the other nearby Munros, it generates an air of remoteness on the eastern hem of the Cairngorm Mountains. The best approaches are either from the north via the beautiful Glen Tanar, with its superb pine forests, or via Glen Esk to the south.
