Traigh nam Barc

Traigh nam Barc
An impressively wide, flat beach, sheltered by the Ardskenish peninsula.
This wide beach of hard flat sand, backed by machair, is reached by a track of about a mile from the Strand car park. There are sheltered coves along its northern Ardskenish shore. The dunes behind here are a good place, in July, to find the fast flying, dark green fritillary butterfly.
