The present house at Ardkinglas was completed in the autumn of 1907 after a miraculously short construction period of 18 months.
The speed of construction did not result in any loss of quality and Ardkinglas is generally considered to be the architect Sir Robert Lorimer's masterpiece. The quality of the materials is matched by the skill and creativity of the craftsmen. The original achievement is still evident as the house remains largely unaltered.
