Headquarters of Clan Campbell since early 15th century, rebuilt in 18th century. Fine furniture and paintings.
Home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Since the early 15th Century Inveraray Castle has been the headquarters of the Clan Campbell. The present castle was built in the third quarter of the 18th Century by Roger Morris and Robert Mylne. The great hall and armoury, the state rooms, tapestries, pictures and 18th Century furniture and old kitchen are shown. Those interested in Campbell genealogy and history will find a visit to the Campbell Room especially enjoyable. Shop and tea-room.
