Nether Largie Standing Stones

This impressive group of standing stones stand in a field close to the main road. It is thought that the stones were erected some 3,200 years ago and may have served as a lunar observatory. The tall central stone is carved with many prominent cup marks.The stones and the Temple Wood Stone Circles beyond them are reached from the car park at the junction of the A816 and B8025 just to the south of Kilmartin.
