Round Church, Bowmore
Scotland’s only round church, completed in 1769, it sits in a prominent position in the middle of Bowmore.
Islay’s best known building, this unusual and attractive church was built in 1767-69 by Daniel Campbell of Shawfield and Islay the then owner of the entire island. It was intended as focal point for his planned new town of Bowmore.
