Sailean Limekilns

One of Scotland’s most impressive early industrial sites, it operated between 1926 and 1935. You can still see the large quarries, double kilns, coal store, workers’ cottages and manager’s house. The harbour, once busy with ships landing coal and loading cargoes of lime, is used by creel boats.
