Beinn a'Bhuird 1197m (3927ft)
This is a rather featureless but distinctly high mountain in the eastern Cairngorms.
Although having a very flat summit, there are a number of very shapely corries scooped in its eastern flanks. The mountain is remote and is invariably accessed from Braemar to the south. It is linked to Ben Avon via the col called ‘The Sneck’. It’s a local haunt for climbers looking for solitude either in summer or, more popularly in winter. Aircraft wreckage has been found on the desolate northern slopes of the mountain.
