Beinn a'Chaorainn (Cairngorms) 1082m (3550ft)
A large, conical and somewhat stony peak rising above the fords of Avon.
This is a typical Cairngorm peak, high, rounded and stony. There are rumours that somewhere on this mountain is an old amethyst mine. The best approach is probably via the Linn of Dee from the south and up the Lairig and Laoigh.
