Ben Alder 1148m (3766ft)
A superb mountain that is both massive and remote lying almost plum centre in the Highlands.
This massive mountain has a romantic appeal to most hillwalkers. It has a high summit plateau guarded by numerous scooped corries and extending ridges in an area of great remoteness. The best access is from Dalwhinnie; the approach is long but a bike will help immeasurably. Views from the summit are extensive and superb, especially down Loch Ericht and west towards Ben Nevis.
