The 2nd highest mountain in Scotland lies in the very heart of the Cairngorms.

The summit of this mountain can barely be seen from any road and its shape isn’t really grandiose, but rather a gradual swelling into a huge bulk. It is home to the mythical creature known as Am Fear liath Mor (the big grey man), and also the highest ‘beach’ in the country can be found on its eastern flanks. The quickest way to the summit is from the Cairngorm car park in the North, although access from the Linn of Dee is a little further and a little more interesting perhaps.
