A most attractive beach at the mouth of the River Halladale it is reached by a short track signposted off the A896. The prominent building you see to the east of car park is Bighouse Lodge. Built in 1765 it was a former home of the Chief of Clan Mackay.The beach is a short 100 m walk through the dunes, at their best in late spring when the short turf is carpeted with cowslips.Good surf spotSeaside Award
