Castle of Old Wick (HS)

Castle of Old Wick (HS)
The ruins of the Castle of Old Wick are dramatically located on top of steep cliffs overlooking the sea. The simple four-storey tower is thought to have been built in the late 12th or early 13th century.
The ruin of the best preserved Norse castle in Scotland. Dating from the 12th century, this spectacular site is on a spine of rock projecting into the sea between two deep, narrow gullies. Visitors must take great care and close child supervision is required.
