Beinn Tarsuinn 937m (3047ft)
A beautifully engaging hill with defined ridges, rocky peaks and precipitous cliffs.
As with all Arran’s peaks this is formed of granite and has an array of precipitous slopes, cliffs and well-formed ridges with further summits. Beinn Nuis, the most southerly summit of the hill is home to three aircraft wreckages between 1943 and 1944, including a Boeing Flying Fortress, due to the mountain being in line with the flightpath between the US and Prestwick. The north ridge, more commonly known as the A’Chir ridge gives one of the best and longest ridge scrambles in Scotland. The best access is from Glen Rosa to the south.
