Maol Chean-dearg 933m (3061ft)

This is a very distinctive mountain with a steep, ‘bald-headed’ summit.

The summit of the mountain is regarded as impenetrable on many sides. The best approach is from A890 at Coulags to the south where a good path goes north and bends round to the Bealach a’ Choire Ghairbh. The southeast summit ridge can be reached from here. On top, the ground drops away steeply on all sides, giving a really exposed feel.
