Southern Upland way is a route that goes from coast to coast, starting in Portpatrick and finishing in Cocksburnpath. It is in southern Scotland, close to the English border and it crosses Dumfries and Galloway. It is the longest of the long distance walking trails, as it covers 212 miles(341km). Beginners could complete the route if it was broken up into manageable stretches, which means that it would take longer to complete the walk. It is better suited to experienced walkers who can cover long distances in a day’s walk.
