Gillfoot Bay

Gillfoot Bay
A broad sandy beach on east side of Southerness Point.
Strewn with cockle shells and with rock pools to explore at low tide, this mile long beach stretches from Southerness Point to Powillimount. The prominent lighthouse, built in 1748 is one of the oldest in Scotland. Signposted off the A710, with car parks at both Southerness and Powillimount.
