Aonach Beag (Nevis Range) 1234m (4049ft)

The second highest mountain in the region has a shapely summit dome and sprawl or remote cliffs on its eastern flank.

Possibly wrongly named as Small Hill. It is a steep and rugged mountain less prominent than its lower and more famous sister peak. Apart from Ben Nevis that towers above it to the west, all the other peaks seem quite submissive in comparison making the views from the top superb. The best point of access is from the car park at the road head in Glen Nevis. The walk through the gorge is excellent as it opens out into the ‘meadow’ with the Steall waterfall behind.
