Sgurr na Ciche 1040m (3412ft)

The mountains steep, tapering cone makes it one of the most distinguishable mountains in the western highlands.

This prominent mountain is the highest in a very rugged and remote corner of the western highlands. It throws down a long rugged ridge to the head of Loch Nevis in the west, which is probably the best means of access. Alternatively an ascent can be made from Glen Dessary which incorporates the satellite Munros of Sgurr nan Coireachan 953m and Garbh Cioch Mor 1013m. It was between these mountains that Bonnie Prince Charlie passed after fleeing the battle of Culloden in 1746.
