The Saddle 1010m (3314ft)
An exciting mountain with a complex array of sharp ridges, steep slopes and corries.
Although not the highest mountain in Glen Shiel it is the one which has the most visual impact. This is especially the case if driving west down the A87, passing the old bridge at the site of the 1719 battle, where straight ahead you can see the summit needling the sky. The best access is from low down in Glenshiel where a stalkers path leads towards the formidable Forcan Ridge, which gives some exposed scrambling and adds to the excitement of an ascent of this fine mountain.
